Introduction[edit | edit source]

With the race to explore the solar system growing heated each passing year, a proposal was made between earth governments and in the year 2050, that proposal was unanimously agreed to. Each of the earth governments would join under a single banner, The Solar Confederate Government.

Do not piss them off.

History[edit | edit source]

As a unified world government, The Solar Confederate Government would work towards furthering humanity to spread them throughout the solar system. They would develop a single language, known at the time as Solar Common, to teach all humans across the world. Common would take English and Mandarin Chinese as its roots and be taught worldwide to bridge communication gaps and phase out translation as a necessity. It would both combine the efforts and heavily invest into space exploration to thrust humanity into the space age.

Corporate Power[edit | edit source]

Along with the unified government came unregulated corporate growth. Loopholes and clauses within governing policies allowed the wealth and power of private businesses to rise unchecked. Soon one company, Nanotrasen, had become a very real, very powerful threat. Shortly after Nanotrasen established the Whiterapids mercenary branch of their company, SolGov had to act. A smooth diplomatic pact later, The Stellar Federation was formed and peace was guaranteed for humanity for the time being.

Race Relations[edit | edit source]

As humanity discovered extraterrestrial life (and created it), there was much debate in SolGov on how to handle it. This unfortunately led to much prejudice towards alien species, though in recent years both corporate and government policies have been slowly but surely changing human attitudes towards aliens. Another step was changing the official name of the Federation to the Galactic Federation to be inclusive for all life throughout the galaxy.

Playing their Part[edit | edit source]

In the current day, as the war between The Federation and The Syndicate rages on, SolGov finds themselves preoccupied with greater threats to assist in the war. Although they still keep a close eye on Nanotrasen and what they develop during the war. As part of the Federation agreements, Nanotrasen or any member of the Federation for that matter isn’t allowed to create, develop, copy, or produce shield or energy weapon technology.

Relations[edit | edit source]

The Solar Confederate Government doesn’t make but maintains the relationship between all members of the Galactic Federation. They do their best to maintain peace and settle disagreements though this isn’t always effective. Fundamental disagreements on how society should be run leaves high tensions between all members of the Federation. And even though peace can be shaky at the best of times, it’s still peace.
