Corporations

In the galaxy, corporations hold a tremendous amount of power compared to 200 years ago. Space is limitless, and therefore not all aspects can be controlled by a government entity, and in these lawless cavities, corporations thrive. While the Sol Central Government controls what is called the Inner Sphere, anything within a 12 light year radius of Sol, a majority of space is under the control of organizations like Nanotrasen, IBM, or the Syndicate. By far, the largest corporation in human-controlled space is Nanotrasen, controlling approximately 51% of the economy, with IBM holding 11% and various A and AA corporations along with the Syndicate controlling the rest. While the Sol Central Government grows increasingly annoyed by these corporate entities, their inability to properly control them in the outer rims of space have resulted in them practically becoming nations, controlling various territories.

Nanotrasen

Nanotrasen (shortened to NT) is a conglomerate of multiple corporations and their subsidiaries controlled by the parent company, Nanotrasen, and the Board of Directors. It is the largest corporation in mankind's history, and covers a wide range of markets, ranging from research to policing. NT subsidiaries include VICKER Media, Cogwerk Engineering, Moebius Research, IronHammer Security, VeyMed Biotechnologies, Ardata Intelligence, Frozen Star Armory, and many more. While NT may not be considered "moral" by the SCG, it has multiple deals with it, including the usage of the SCG Enterprise.
