Introduction

NanoTrasen Corp, or NT for short, is a ruthless megacorporation that started out as a government-sanctioned military contractor of SolGov. Due to SolGov's absence from the second Syndicate war, they are no longer focusing on only the economy. With permission from SolGov they have begun arming a basic militia of cargo ships with MAC and other typically anti-asteroid weaponry, though this force cannot really compare to Whiterapids, or even SolGovs main fleet.

Subfactions

NanoTrasen can easily be divided into two subfactions of leaders with different priorities. The Stagnant and The Expansionists.

The Expansionists

The Expansionists wish to as the name suggests, expand to new markets. Primarily alien ones, also to aquire new holdings. They wish to risk existing resources to make more in the future.
Because NanoTrasen is in the end a megacorporation it's interests start and end at making money, thus far The Expanders have provided that, and as such the board of directors mostly consists of them.
It is also to be noted that The Expanders wish independence from SolGov, though they won't state that out loud and as such relations between the two are sour.

The Stagnant

The Stagnant merely wish to stay as members of SolGov and improve existing assets. Due to this stagnation they aren't as profitable as The Expansionists.
Due to their lack of profits, the only power The Stagnant have over NanoTrasen comes from significant SolGov backing.

Faction Relations

NanoTrasen has a very complicated relationship with many factions, due to being a subsidiary of SolGov while also acting as an independent body.

SolGov

NanoTrasen and SolGov are both members of the Federation and as such allied, infact a lot of SolGov's tax revenue comes from NanoTrasen. But the fact of the matter is that SolGov knows NT wants to get out from under their thumb and as such is forcing them to fight a slow war of attrition with a force that is very hard to kill, of course referring to the Syndicate threat.

Dominion of Light

Due to The Dominion being in need of industrial goods, something NT can provide and NT being in need of tech, something the Dominion can provide the two have a great trade relationship.
Only major problem with NanoTrasen - Dominion relations is the sticking point of The Draconic Empire. Due to NanoTrasen having great relations with both parties, they usually play mediator.

Draconic Empire

The relations between The Empire and NanoTrasen are very good, as The Empire respects military ability.
While SolGov is stronger than NanoTrasen, there is a major amount of respect and even admiration for what NT can do with limited resources
The fact that both factions have things the other needs, Luxury goods on one side and ship hulls on the other helps relations massively.
The only sticking point once more is The Dominion of Light and The Empire hating each other, which NT has to play mediator to

Tortugan Raiders

The Tortugan Raiders and NT have a love-hate relationship, the raiders love NanoTrasen cargo vessels for being easy prey, and NanoTrasen hates The Tortugans for raiding their shipments. However now that Nanotrasen has acquired a military fleet (thanks to the start of the war against the Syndicate), Nanotrasen has started to fight back against these pirates.

Syndicate

One of the only things NanoTrasen's all human leadership hates more than the Syndicate is how they've been forced to fight them by SolGov. NanoTrasen admiralty are still enraged at The Syndicate for destroying the moon and The Syndicate hates them back just as much, for being the ones that hid the existence of plasma for so long, and with so little regard for any civilian lives that got in the way of the secrecy.
