Revision as of 10:01, 29 July 2020
Suggesting additions to the basic guide
- Mention to never let it go over 600C
- Mention to rework the piping yourself to allow fuel to be dumped out of the pipes
- And that the console's Fuel Dump only purges the fuel from the reactor itself
- Mention to don't retract the rods
- Maybe an "expected wattage" like 2MW?

My reply to the suggestions above and the reason I didn't add them:
- Temperature is not set (gases can alter temperature) and the control screen already shows roughly how high the max is in the form of the progress bar
- Reworking of pipes/machines is not required to run the reactor itself, these guides are not for getting the most efficient running reactor but just for understanding how it works and how to set it up in a pinch
- The fuel dump only dumping from the reactor itself is also quite obvious if you look at the pipes with there only being an injector inside the gas output tank
- In most cases lowering/ raising the control rods is literally what it means to operate the stormdrive, whatever people do with the rods is up to them
- Expected power output is really not relevant because of the huge amount of difference certain factors like temperature, gas composition and incompetency of the engineers can make. Sure when I'm running it on constricted plasma I like to keep it at a certain temperature which results in me making 500KW but that does not mean everyone can be expected to do the same.
